VOYAGE ALONG THE MOSELLE

The City of Metz, in eastern France, invited TETRO+A to produce an installation for one of its most iconic sights - the Moselle River, which crosses the city. The three-month Constellations de Metz festival spotlights the city’s cultural, urban and natural heritage. Artistic in situ creations by more than 300 artists offer four day and night itineraries through the city. TETRO+A is presenting a poetic installation called AETHER & HEMERA: VOYAGE, which invites the public to rediscover their creative inner child.

— INSTALLATION —

Voyage is an interactive lighting installation created by the Aether & Hemera collective composed of a fleet of 165 origami boats, each measuring 60cm and equipped with a dynamic and colourful LED light. The fleet creates a light matrix that uses water as a canvas on which to draw an imaginary and immersive landscape. Viewers can use their smartphones to connect to an application that allows them to control the light and effects in real time and, as a result, participate in the creative and aesthetic process. The paper boats on the water invite everyone to make the transition from the real to an imaginary world.
