A NEW AND AUGMENTED SCENOGRAPHY FOR THE ELECTRO SCENE

— CONTEXT —

Reflecting its commitment to young designers, the Absolut Company Creation runs an electro music-centred digital arts program, based on the support and expertise of the TETRO agency. In 2016, TETRO works with Romain Tardy to create and produce "OX". The goal is to create a new and unique experience mixing Music x Visual Art x Technology for electronic music spaces. Building on the success of the OX tour, The Absolut Company Creation supports the creation of a new travelling work.

The Absolut Company Creation asked TETRO to build an artistic universe that embodie a meeting between technology and nature in a scenographic installation where the DJ plays the central role.

— CREATION —

Tetro organised a competition involving five artists. At the end of 2017, the SCALE collective, supervised by Joaquim OLAYA, is selected based on its work, PHYSIS: an installation that responds to DJ sounds and features organic contours that recall a cocoon of rocks and the eroded peak of a fjord of the Far North.

TETRO supports the collective from the initial installation design through to the production stage. The spectacular decor, consisting of 26 plates with mineral, vertical and parallel forms, is a showcase and screen for cutting-edge lighting and projection technology. In addition to an impressive lighting system (10,000 LEDs programmable pixel by pixel), a video map encasing the structure offers a multitude of visual and interactive possibilities combining dynamic light and motion design. On 23 March 2018, the PHYSIS installation begins its tour of iconic electro spaces with the Ubu in Rennes, the Chamonix Unlimited Festival, Nuits de la Filature, les Nuits sonores, and many others.
