LA DEFENSE | LIGHT INSTALLATIONS

To promote the area of La Défense as part of the end-of-year illuminations, TETRO is programming the winter season. Two interactive art installations are presented on the main esplanade: PASSENGERS, by Guillaume Marmin and VOYAGE, by the Italian duo Aether & Hemera.

- CREATIVE WORK PRESENTED -

To enliven the district and bring the area to life on a daily basis, La Défense wanted to offer light animations for the end-of-year celebrations for passers-by, workers and inhabitants of the district. Our challenge for TETRO was to propose surprising installations with a powerful visual effect, accessible to the general public, operating by day and night, to enhance the architectural perspectives of the district through light.

Drawing on the artistic heritage of this esplanade, which hosts, among others, the works of the Greek sculptor Takis and the artist Agam, TETRO is inspired by these artists' work on movement and light to programme two interactive light installations:

PASSENGERS by Guillaume MARMIN, an incredible space-time capsule straight out of the visionary mind of the multidisciplinary artist, offers an immersive, sound and light experience during a suspended passage between past and future.
VOYAGE, by AETHER and HEMERA, is an interactive light installation that invites city dwellers to let their childhood imaginations sail. A work composed of a fleet of 126 origami boats that transform into a matrix of light that uses water to draw an imaginary and poetic landscape. The public is invited to interact with the work using their smartphones to trigger new loops of light and colour.

TETRO is very proud to perpetuate the artistic heritage of this dynamic and cosmopolitan neighbourhood with installations accessible to all, young and old, students or workers, simple passers-by or regular visitors!
