Light as a network
STUDIO TETRO presents Christopher Bauder's Deep Web, producing the work at the Hôtel de Région Rhône-Alpes Auvergne, as part of the Fête des Lumières.
Concept
Deep Web is an installation conceived by Berlin-based designer Christopher Bauder (WHITEvoid studio) with composer Robert Henke. This is our second collaboration in Lyon, following Grid in 2013.
The spheres rise and fall, choreographed and synchronised to an original multichannel score by Robert Henke, immersing the audience in a three-dimensional ballet of kinetic light and sound, in total darkness.
Installation
175 motorised spheres, filled with a light-absorbing liquid, suspended within a structure 25 metres long and 10 metres high. Twelve high-powered lasers light them in waves of colour — red, green, turquoise, blue, purple, pink, white — drawing a luminous analogy to the nodes and connections of a digital network.
